Four people, including an infant, were injured in a medical helicopter crash near Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.
A police superintendent said it was a “miracle” that a pilot managed to down a helicopter in distress without harming the people on board.
The medical helicopter crashed Tuesday afternoon near the Drexel Hill United Methodist Church in Upper Darby’s Drexel Hill, a residential suburb of Philadelphia. Rescue crews were on the scene within minutes.
Upper Darby police Superintendent Tim Bernhardt told reporters that those on board included a pilot, two crew members, and an infant child. He said their injuries are non-life-threatening.
Upper Darby Township Fire Chief Derrick Sawyer told Fox News that the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. He said the identities of the pilot, crew, and infant will be release at a later date.
