Daly, 58, suffered a devastating loss last year when his $1.4-million home in Clearwater, Fla., was destroyed by Hurricane Helene.
“I’m just glad everyone is healthy, that’s the main thing,” he told the PGA Tour’s website at the time. “You live in Florida, you have to understand that’s going to happen, but not like this. I didn’t think it would be this bad.”
He also had been diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020 and underwent surgery to remove it, but said there was a strong chance of the disease returning.
“Luckily for me, they caught it early, but bladder cancer is something that I don’t know all the details,” he said. “But it doesn’t look like it may go away. We will just see what happens. Maybe there’s a miracle.”
